How to read excel files in R?
This recipe helps you read excel files in R
Recipe Objective
Excel is a spreadsheet application by Microsoft which is widely used for organising and storing data in the form of tables. R provides us with multiple ways to read, write and manipulate these files.
In this recipe we will discuss how to read an excel file in R
Step 1: Installing and loading the required package
We use "xlsx" package to read excel files (.xls, .xlsx)
#installing a package
install.packages("readxl")
#loading a package
library(readxl)
Step 2: Reading an excel file
We use read_excel("Your PATH") function to read the file
result = readxl::read_excel("R_183_test_file_excel.xlsx")
result
