  • Formulate meaningful hypothesis that are relevant to the business objectives

  • Experimenting with machine learning algorithms, evaluating and comparing metrics, iteratively improving the solution

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • Background in Computer Science, or equivalent technical field
  • PhD or MS degree with 3+ years of experience in the industry
  • Proficient at machine learning and data mining techniques, statistical modeling methods, exploration and understanding of structured and unstructured data, time series, text mining, optimization, information retrieval, supervised and unsupervised learning, recommendations, clustering, anomaly detection, forecasting methods, optimization, and other advanced statistical techniques
  • Understanding of the CRISP-DM methodology
  • Proven experience working with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming modes, and various formats including tabular, text, time series, image/video and audio
  • Ability to prototype statistical analysis and predictive modeling algorithms, and apply these algorithms for data driven solutions.
  • Software development skills in one or more high level languages (C/C++/Java/Python/R)
  • Proficient at designing and implementing visualization and reporting for structured and unstructured data sets
  • Proficient at working with 100+Gigabyte data sets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize key findings
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Comfortable working as both part of a high-performing team and as an entirely independent performer
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks and conflicting requirements with a high attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance and prioritize multiple conflicting requirements
  • Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to executive-level audiences
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Willingness to travel less than 25% of the year
