A cost centre or cost center is a division within a business which is financed from the profit margin adding to the cost of the organization, but contributing to its profit indirectly, for examples include research and development, marketing and customer service.

Similarly Corporate Finance is a cost centre for the company, but indirectly the company without the financial analysts wouldn't be able to make huge profit.Though corporate finance is a cost centre for the company,still it is essential for the profit of the company.
