Stocks need to be monitored because if money is locked up in stocks for a long time it can affect the company's cash position or liquidity. Most business prefer to sell off old stock lest they become obsolete, deteriorate etc.

To provide a solution to this Tally ERP 9 provides you the Stock Ageing Report. The Stock Ageing Report tells you a stock item's age according to when they were received in the godown and their purchase value.

To view Inventory Ageing Report go from:
Gateway of Tally > Display > Inventory Books > Ageing Analysis

Use the Horizontal Button Bar to configure the report to your needs for example you can hide stock item amounts (or values), view only expired batches, reset ageing periods (or bands), view stock group or a particular godown/location.

Hope this answers your query. If you need more information let me know.
