Margin implies relative to the revenue..which means there should be Revenue in denominator while calculating any margin.

Gross Margin = (Revenue - COGS)/ Revenue

Net Margin = Net Profit/Revenue

where Net Profit= Revenue - COGS - Operating Expenses - Interests and Tax.
