Yes, you can certainly calculate anything in Microsoft Excel.

To calculate Cost/ Day you can use inbuilt functions AVERAGE or AVERAGEIF functions. AVERAGE function if list contains cost of single product or commodity and AVERAGEIF function if you have more then one products cost on the list and you want to calculate cost per day for a particular commodity.

Lets explain this further with the help of below mentioned illustration:

Suppose, You have below mentioned list of expenses incurred listed out in an Excel Spreadsheet starting from top left corner i.e. A1

Product Cost Date
Books & Periodicals 1000 03-Apr-14

To calculate Cost/Day for Books and Periodicals use below mentioned formula
