The Process of Company setup is quite simple in Tally ERP 9. The only things one has to care about are the 'Compliance For'/'Enable Auto Backup'/'Tally Vault'/'Enable Security' fields in company creation screen.

If you are working on a company file then from :

Gateway of Tally > Alt + F3 > (select) Create Company (or press C)

Compliance for field is important because based on your selection state-specific statutory forms and masters will be created.

Enable Autobackup will create a backup file (ABK.900) in your company file folder at regular intervals.

Enable Security allows you to set a company file Admin and other users and their security levels. Also allows you to set user names, passwords and Tally.NET access/Tally SMS authorisations for those users.

Tally Vault lets you secure the company file by prompting you to provide a password without which the entire company file data remains encrypted. Its useless (i.e. the company information) unless you give the correct password. Business owners who want to protect their company from unauthorized access use Tally Vault. Never lose the password otherwise you will also lose the data forever.
