Please try installing Hadoop on your systems before tomorrow's class

Hey everyone
When you login to your accounts on Dezyre.com - under Module 3 - you will find a bunch of installation documents to setup Hadoop.

We recommend starting off with CDH3 - there is an installation manual for Windows and Mac. Ubuntu users can install Hadoop 1.x as Single node.

Any issues you have - you can discuss in class tomorrow and the instructor will guide you.

Good Luck

Thanks Omair!

Successfully downloaded and installed.

It is under Module 2 and the file name contains Module 3 in it.
The link that is in the document downloads "cloudera-0.3.tar" directly. So, no additional steps(like step 2).
Also, VMware player link on the document is old/dead.
new link : https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/free#desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_player/6_0

Best Regards,

Omair, I followed the Installation Steps for Cloudera - CDH3 and have it installed on my laptop which is a 64-bit 4GB Ram , Intel Core i5 2.4 GHz. Is this Hadoop 1.x as Single node? If yes, how is mult-node installed on the same system for windows? Thanks!
