Hi Ramana,
Where are you trying to create your file?
Can you please provide the output of command 'pwd'
Suggest you to follow below commands:
1. cd /home/cloudera
2. mkdir ramanaFiles
3. cd ramanaFiles
4. vi file_name
Please post if it don't work.
