Postpone the Next session for the June 7th weekend class

Yes Sujatha !! I completely agree. A one week break would give us sufficient time to familiarize ourself with the Linux and Java commands along with the Hadoop Fundamentals.

I like the idea but we haven't got to the coding aspects of it yet. I like the idea of a break during the July 4th weekend.

I would like to try the Hadoop and other commands but try that after the 3 hr classroom - otherwise we might never catch up.

It seems quite obvious that you need basic understanding of Unix and Java to complete this course. I wish it was mentioned as a prerequisite for the course.

I would rather get useful information from the tutor about Hadoop and big data technologies in the time we spend in this class.

I would prefer a break during July 4th weekend. I am sure most of the participant from US will agree with me.

I honestly don't understand what is the big deal with the long weekend and how does it make a difference. I would think its better to get a grip on the basic commands before jumping in for another 6 hrs session. Logic is really not a big pain once you have the grip on the commands.
Right now, most of us are not even following the commands which are being executed during the 3 hours sessions. Before you can even take a look at the command and type, the class has moved ahead (leave aside the unexpected results that you get by executing the commands).
Don't want to sound like an ass but it seems like everyone wants a break on a long weekend rather than next weekend to go out on a trip rather than actually practice. If you really wanna practice how does a long weekend make a difference from a regular weekend.

I'm afraid I agree with skipping one week sooner rather than later. I bought "Hadoop for Dummies" hoping to understand more about the commands and coding. I am not keeping up. Luckily, (if you can call it that) I am not working at this time, because this is going to take about 30-40 hours, or more of "heads down" time to get this environment understood, let alone working. Lots of methods and classes to understand, and my Hadoop install on my laptop doesn't work any more, so I also have technical problems I need to work out.

I sure want to catch up all the learning so far; but so far only basic programmings have been covered and next two classes are of advanced Mapreduce classes. So i would suggest please stretch a little bit more and let the more advance classes be finished, then we could take a week more to get practice on the advanced versions with a little extra time and effort.

Anyway that's my thoughts. Please check with everyone else.
