logging into salesforce sandbox

Our homework yesterday was to practice loading via Data Loader. I can't seem to get logged onto the sandbox. I'm entering test.salesforce.com in settings, using my email w_doerr@hotmail.com, my password, and the security token that I just requested.

Is there something I need to do to se myself up in the sandbox? I am set up in the developer.force.com instance

I guess you would be using developer edition, So you have to login.salesforce.com instead of test.salesforce.com
When logging into production instance we use -- https://login.salesforce.com
When logging into Sandbox instance we use -- https://test.salesforce.com

I'm still getting the same resonse "Error logging into Salesforce. Please check your username and password". I am using my regular password + security token. If I open a browser and go into login.salesforce.com, I am able to get in. Is there some other setting that I need to make? Using my own home computer, so no proxy server in the mix.
