Hi Allan
I am assuming you have followed the instructions in this document which is under "Hadoop Installation Documents"
Windows - Cloudera Hadoop Installation - CDH4 (Recommended)
If you have installed this - then there is no need for you to connect to DeZyre VM.
You can start the VMWare player and launch the Cloudera quickstart VM.
There is a video under "Module 3 - Understanding Hadoop MapReduce Framework" called "Run your first mapreduce program" - Although this video uses CDH3 and some of the commands might have changed - it will give you an idea on how to launch the CDH4 and get started with your assignments.
