He should have made sure people got this. I have a feeling there are different installations. There were a lot of options. See screen shot below for URL, HUE and Globe.

Yes, this was made way harder than it needed to be.

hi Trinath,

Once you open Firefox in the cloudera VM, on the bookmarks toolbar you will see the "Hue".
login details are cloudera/cloudera
thanks

Hi,

I went to bookmarks toolbar after opening Firefox in the cloudera VM. I still don`t see "Hue". Please refer to screenshot attached.

The VM Image I have provided is for users with lesser resources. It is an older CDH version and does not have hue or cloudera manager.

Use the latest cloudera or hortonworks vm for hue and cloudera manager/ambari. You need to allocate 4GB RAM to the VM to work @ a reasonable speed on these newer versions.

Best Regards
Deb.

Deb,

Thanks for the clarification. Btw I have 4 GB RAM allocated for Hadoop. If this involves setting up latest version of Cloudera VM or Hortonworks VM I prefer not to at this point of time as I am more focused on completing the IBM certification for which I need all the time in the world. ha! ha! ha!

Deb - I am finally able to connect WinSCP with the Cloudera VM by using the "ubuntu@ec2-54-69-192-192.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com" and private Key file(dzhadoop_private.ppk) just as you recommended in the training session. However, while connecting to Cloudera VM it only accpets Username "ubuntu". Once I am in WinSCP with Cloudera VM as remote where do I find the "home/training" directory which happens to be the Local for all our HDFS work?

I am trying to move the data file from my windows local to HDFS Local on Cloudera VM and I don`t see "home/training" directory there.

Regards,
Trinadh
