I had installed Hadoop on Fedora 22 and I followed the following steps:

1.Installed java - Worked fine
2. downloaded the .rpm file from cloudera - Worked fine
2a. Rip the file (rpm -ivh - Worked fine
3. Install: (dnf install hadoop-conf-pseudo ) - Worked fine
4. format files: (sudo -u hdfs hdfs namenode -format
5. start service:
for service in /etc/init.d/hadoop-*; do $service start;done;
For step number 5, am getting the error message listed below:

6. sudo -u hdfs fs -mkdir /tmp
-> Here the file is getting created but am getting a similar prompt with the same error message above.

I would like to add that the tmp dir was created successfully
