have a situation here. i am forced to run namenode format before a clean start of all services the next day

Without any logs it's not possible to suggest the next steps. Can you look into hadoop/logs and check the namenode log for exact error.

Please stop all the service by using the command - stop-all.sh
Then format the namenode using the command - hadoop namenode -format
Start all the services by command- start-all.sh.
