what is MINORITY INTEREST and how to view it in Income statement....
1 Answer(s)
Binny
Minority interest indicates the portion of a subsidiaries stock that is owned by a parent company. Not all companies have minority interest.
When looking at a company's financial statements, minority interest shows up in 2 places. On the income statement, it usually appears as a non-operating line item, and on the balance sheet, it occurs as a line item at the bottom as a liability.
