FLYR’s Data Science Shakes Up Travel Industry. Pymnts.com, February 1,2017
Finding affordable fares and booking deals is always a game of luck for many consumers. Travelers are usually locked into fares only to find that the prices decrease at a later date or they have to pay huge cancellation charges due to change in their schedule. FLYR, a data science startup looks to shake up things by predicting the airfare so that travelers do not have to end up paying high airfares. FLYR aims to resolve the pain points in travel for both the consumer and the industry through big data and predictive analytics. The data science algorithm Foresight not just informs travelers about when to expect the lowest airfare but also makes predictions on how airfares will move with the precision of a flight number.

How data science is transforming cancer treatment scheduling. Medcitynews.com, February 5, 2017.
Data Science and Mathematics are transforming the face of healthcare scheduling to ensure that more patients can access health care easily. Data scientists mine all the scheduling patterns of a clinical center and take into consideration various operational constraints of the centre like staffing schedules , patient demand and capital asset availability. Based on all these parameters, a data science algorithm is developed to optimize the schedule of a clinical centre so that increased number of patients can be served uniformly throughout the day over the traditional scheduling systems.Healthcare providers like Fox Chase Cancer Centre , Stanford Health Care , UCSF and many others are seeing reduced cost of service, optimized equipment usage , maximum facility utilization , more patients being served with wait times decreased by as much as 55% during the peak hours.

Cazena Unfurls Data Science Sandbox in the Cloud.ITBusinessEdge.com, February 9, 2017.
Shortage of analytics talent has led to many organizations rely on service providers who can host and manage their data. Most of the organizations want data scientists to have the flexibility in self-servicing their data requirements so that they can have more control to the overall environment without having to wait for the IT department to service their requests. At the Spark Summit East Conference, Cazena unveiled its Data Science Sandbox as a Service that will help data scientists build their own sandboxes without requiring any external intervention from the IT department of the company.Cazena ‘s Data Science sandbox is likely to bridge the mismatch between data scientists and the IT department of an organization.
