Cloudera unveiled a new web based Data Science workbench at the Strata + Hadoop World conference today which will give data scientists the flexibility of a data science notebook with security and governance of a locked down hadoop cluster. The new data science workbench is like a collaborative notebook that address the mismatch that exists between Python and R based open source tools that data scientist use and what Apache Hadoop provides. Data Science Workbench will provide data scientists with access to all the latest data science tools within a centralized and controlled environment.Once data scientists have access to the Workbench they run any data science tool against the data residing in hadoop through a web browser.
