i dint understand about lock down proceedure

In vlookup when you are referencing the table array were you are checking for a match you have to lock down the cell reference before you copy down the formula.
If you dont lock down the cell, then when you copy down the formula the vlookup match the wrong table array. Due to this for example you lock cell C1 as $C$1. For this just place your cursor between "c" and "1" and hit f4. It will lock the cell.
