What is drill down display ?

Tally allows users to Drill Down from any report to lower levels of reports till the voucher.
For example, user can view a Balance sheet and then select the required group in the Balance
Sheet and drill down till the vouchers. Any changes then made in the voucher (i.e. if allowed by current security levels), is reflected real time at all levels.

Drill Down means going into the next level of (higher) detail. For e.g. if you are looking at Trade Debtors figure in Balance Sheet in Tally ERP 9 and if you select Trade Debtors (from your cursor or keys)and press enter you will go to (or drill-down to) the next level of detail which will be the list of Ledger Names and Closing Balances in the Trade Debtors Group. If you select one of those Debtors in the list (say Geetha & Company) you will go to the next level of higher detail which is the monthly summary of Geetha & Company A/c. This will go on until you reach a voucher and a voucher is the lowest level of detail because it is the basis on which a transaction is recorded.

This is called Drill-Down Display. Hope it makes the concept clear. Let me know if you have further queries.
