Task has "Notify Assignee" checked, and not getting e-mail

Hi all,

I'm going through the Force.com Fundamentals book (ver 6, Dezyre is using). I'm on page 209, testing the "Send Rejection Letter" and "Extend an Offer" tasks. I have the "Notify Assignee" checkbox checked for both these tasks - I understand this is supposed to send an e-mail.

When I test these tasks, notifications are sent to the task assignee feeds as expected, but no e-mail!

What do you think I could be doing wrong that I'm not also receiving an e-mail when the rule is fired and the task is correctly assigned?

Please check the email service is working and Assigne has a valida email address configured.
