Can i use HortonWork Hadoop

Hortonworks framework should be same but to follow the class instructions probably it would be better to use Cloudera at this state.

You can use any instance of Hadoop, Once you have some hold on the concepts. As Mohammed has pointed out use cloudera 1quickstart vm 4.7 on Virtual box so the there is a uniformity in learning. Later on you can experiment with different flavors of Hadoops. @Mohammed - Thank You
