Connecting Cloudera VM from FileZilla

I have installed Cloudera-quickstart-vm-4.4.0-1, succssfully on Oracle VM VirtualBox. Everything is working fine. However, I am unable to coneect into it from FileZila. Being presented "Network error: Connection timed out". I have configured the Timeout to 120 seconds! A quick response will be very appreciated. Hi Sridhar,

You don't need any tool to copy file from Windows to Cloudera VM, you can simply drag and drop files from your Windows to Cloudera and vice versa.

Hi Abhijit, Sorry, your answer does not make sense! Please elaborate. A FTP or SFTP connection has to be established before making any file transfers.

Hi Sridhar,

Yes you are right we use FTP and SFTP for file transfer but there is more file serving protocol available. For example - SAMBA server uses SMB protocol for file sharing.

Your Centos and Windows are capable of creating the file sharing network protocol which you can use. It's a bidirectional protocol. You can enable and disable this feature in VMware/Virtual Box.

You just need to hold the file in Window file browser and drop it in Centos file browser/Desktop. Same goes for copy command also, if you copied some text in windows, you can directly paste them in Centos.
