My Data Node dies everytime I browse a folder - Psuedo distributed

Hi Team,

Wondering if someone can help me. I have been struggling to make progress. Everytime I start my Pseudo distributed hadoop cluster in the VM and try to access the Hadoop file system from my PC, my Data Node dies down.

I am able to get to the default page without issue(http://192.168.189.131:50070/dfshealth.jsp). But, as soon as I Browse the file system and click on the "usr" or "Data" folder I get the message saying

"

This site can’t be reached

192.168.189.131 refused to connect."

Any chance someone can help me?

Thanks.

Manish

Hi Manish,

The namenode and datanode namespace doesn't match.. that why whenever you are trying to browse datanode though namenode, the datanode stop working. Only possible solution is to recreate the machine.

Hi Abhijit,

Can you please explain what you mean by recreate the machine? You mean that I should delete the VM and create a new one?

Are there any particular steps that will enable me to ensure that the namenode and datanode namespace mismatch is addressed?

Hi, I managed to get this resolved. The issue was with the entry in the secondary name node config file. I changed it from the IP address to "localhost" and the issue stopped occuring. Thank you for the pointer though.
