Hadoop Installation on MAC

0
Unclear how to proceed after downloading and attempting to install VM fusion. I'm stuck on step #2.

Step 1. Select the Installation Method/Install from disk or image/Continue

Step 2. Create a New Virtual Machine/Choose an operating system installation disc or image

Step 2 shows nothing in the window. I'm not getting much luck with support@dezyre and the installation videos don't help either.....

Anyone have better luck with this?

hi Ethan,

Please choose the "Import virtual machine" option and make sure that the Cloudera VM that you've downloaded supports VMWare.

Let us know in case of any issues.

Thanks

Can you clarify the option? There is no "Import virtual machine" option. The closest one is "Import an existing virtual machine". When I choose that option, there is not anything to select.

I have downloaded the Cloudera (cloudera-0.3.tar.bz2?dl=0.1) and VM Fusion (VMware-Fusion-6.0.4-1887983.dmg)

Hi Ethan - I am able to login to the Cloudera and all my issues are resolved

Steps -

1) Install the VM Ware Fusion
2) Download "cloudera" tar file
3) Extract the tar file
4) Click the "Cloudera-demo-0.3.7" file
5) Ubuntu will be automatically launched and prompted to enter userid /password

Let me know if this helps
