problem connecting with aws


receive restart message in putty and when I execute command
hadoop dfs -ls /
receive a series of error

below are the comments based on the steps and screenshots provided:
1) "gedit" is a notepad like program, why are you doing a "sudo gedit .bashrc"? . ".bashrc" can be found in users home directory like "/home/cloudera" and for executing pig no changes need to be made in Cloudera VM. just execute "pig "

2) Regarding the AWS screenshot, I'll check with out tech support.

3) "hadoop fs -ls /" ,From the errors looks like the namenode service is down, will check with out technical support team
