Recipe Objective - What is a COALESCE function in Power BI?

It returns the first expression that does not evaluate BLANK. If all expressions evaluate to BLANK, BLANK is returned.

Step 1 - Open Power BI report

Step 2 - New Measure

Go to Fields pane -> Right-click on Dataset -> New Measure

Step 3 - Dax query(COALESCE function)

Write down the formula as Check = COALESCE(SUM([SALES]),0)

We have the sum of sales as the first expression, so if we have any blank values in Sales, it will return 0. If we don't have any blank values in sales, then it will return the total sales.

In this way, we can use COALESCE function in Power BI.
